  • Artificial intelligence applied to the legal domain has been developed over the last 50 years various models in the field of symbolic and non-symbolic algorithms. With this project, we want to investigate the use of hybrid approaches using both ML /DL combined with logical and semantic models to represent the knowledge included in civil judgments and then develop a more abstract model that can also be applied in the administrative and criminal fields. In particular, we intend to understand how Semantic Web and LegalXML can offer a valid context of meaning necessary for implementing classification, similarity, clustering, correlation, and regression. These AI techniques could provide effective tools to judges, lawyers, decision-makers (eg, Emilia-Romagna Region) to perform better the monitoring of legal phenomena and thus improve the justice system as well as the strategies to fight crime.
