Position: Aerospace Manufacturing Instructor - Adjunct
Department: Career & Technical Education
Reports To : Aerospace Program Manager
Position Summary
The Aerospace Instructor plans, supports and delivers instruction for credit-
based college courses in Aerospace or related courses. Instructors participate
in assessment for programs, and general college education and participate in
self-governance activities, curriculum development and student support.
Classes to take place on the Nunez Community College campus in Chalmette, LA.
Classes will start mid- January 2022 and go until May 2022 for the Spring 2022
semester. If successful in the role, you will be invited to return for the
following semester.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instruction in face to face and online classes including preparing
and delivering curriculum and supporting and maintaining a positive
learning environment.
Support student learning and development through use of student
conferences and mentoring activities, student feedback, including
supporting a community of learning on the campus.
Participate in assessment at the program, departmental and college level
for ongoing improvement and in relation to special tasks or projects.
Education and Experience Requirements
Experience working in the aerospace field is usually needed, but similar
manufacturing experience (as described below) will be considered.
Aerospace or related field certifications
Ability to teach the following:
Fabrication/Machine Shop Style:
Two days per week, two hours each day
64 class hours during semester (4hrs per week x 16 weeks)
Skills Required to be able use the following equipment:

Drill Presses
Manual Mills
CNC Mills
Pedestal Grinders
Precision Measurement
Soldering, Circuit Boards & Wiring Harnesses:
Two days per week, 2.5 hours each day
80 class hours during semester (5hrs per week x 16 weeks)

Soldering

Wiring Harness Assembly
Wiring Harness Installation
Circuit Theory
Electrical Concepts
Hoist & Cranes:
One day per week, 1.5 hours each day
24 class hours during semester (1.5hrs per week x 16 weeks)

Stacker
Tug
Scissor Lift
Boom Lift
Platform Lift
Hoists
Cranes
Rigging
Welding:
Two days per week, 2.5 hours each day
80 class hours during semester (5hrs per week x 16 weeks)
Skill Required:
Orbital Tube Welding
Friction Stir Welding
Robotic Welding
Surface Preparation, Coatings & Adhesives:
Two days per week, 2.5 hours each day
80 class hours during semester (5hrs per week x 16 weeks)
Skills Required:
Surface Preparation and Test
Application of Conversion Coatings or Primers
Application of Polyurethane and Epoxy Adhesives
Vacuum Bagging
Composites:
One day per week, 1 hour per week
16 class hours during semester (1hr per week x 16 weeks
Skills Required:
Knowledge of Composite Materials
Please note additional support hours will end up being required for
outside of classroom work

Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field
Demonstrated success in training or education
Physical Demands: When Applicable
Ability to work in excess of 40 hours a week, which may include nights and
weekends
Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment
Ability to carry <25 lbs., stand, sit, reach, bend, climb, reach and
