Position Summary Information
Job Goal
Recruit high school and adult students to credit and non-credit career opportunities or transfer programs, selling the benefits and advantages of a community college. Be the first point of contact with prospective students and families. Coordinate and host campus visit events and personalized visit experiences. Provide expertise in NICC programs and financial literacy. Travel within the tri-states to promote unique program opportunities at the college.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with an integrated student services team to provide access to NICC credit and non-credit programs and opportunities to explore pathways.
Responsible for attracting potential target markets, including recruitment of traditional high school and non-traditional adult students. Lead on and off campus individual and group events and visits. Provide prospects with information regarding careers, employment demand, program opportunities, admission to the College and financial aid. Recruit students into all NICC programs, including Credit programs, High School Equivalency Diploma, and Career Pathway Certificates.
Plan travel schedule for fall (September- November) and spring (February- April) recruitment seasons in addition to events and visits throughout the academic year.
Schedule and visit in-district and out-of-district high schools, community groups, and businesses in assigned territory to provide awareness on career pathways, NICC options and to secure potential students for NICC courses and programming.
Meet with undecided students to identify educational pathways and provide career planning.
Qualifications
AA/AS degree with minimum of 3 years experience or Bachelor's degree required.
Ability to represent the college positively, enthusiastically, and effectively with prospective students, parents, secondary school personnel, college faculty, staff, alumni, referral agencies, community groups, businesses, and general public. Ability to travel regionally, may include some weekend/evening hours or overnight travel, and to work variable hours. Experience in sales or post-secondary education, preferably with community college experience. Attributes of high energy, creative thinking, and quality innovation.
