Work Schedule

Monday – Friday

8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with extended hours during peak periods. Some weekends, nights, and overnight travel as required by recruitment activities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. Extensive travel, presentations to large and small public audiences and superior customer service skills are essential for this position. Additional Position Information

This Admission Counselor position is expected to work primarily with transfer student recruitment. This position will actively visit community colleges to recruit and counsel prospective students through the UofM enrollment process. Moreover, this position will be responsible to assist transfer students from 4-year colleges and adults returning to college through the enrollment process.

Supports the enrollment goals of the university by providing admissions information to prospective or newly admitted students. Represents the university to prospective undergraduate students and their families at college fairs, visits to high schools and colleges, on campus and off campus events. Communicates with prospective students by phone, email, and other innovative methods. Counsels prospective students on admissions requirements, financial aid and other topics.

Manages a geomarket/recruitment territory by actively traveling to high schools and two- year colleges to provide enrollment counseling and meet with counselors, parents, and prospective UofM students.

Conducts dynamic presentations and effectively answer questions about admission and application requirements and processes. Assists with the campus tour program by welcoming visitors, leading the group information session, and at times, leading a campus tour.

Analyzes data to determine marketing effectiveness and impact on applicant and enrollment objectives for targeted populations. Develops and utilizes various reports. Compiles and analyzes statistical data for routine, periodic and ad hoc reports. Prepares regular recruitment activity reports, statistical analyses and enrollment projections.
