The search will remain open until the position has been filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by January 31, 2023. BASIC FUNCTION:
Partner with the Office of International Students and Scholars as well as the Graduate School for supporting growth in graduate international enrollment. Liaise closely with campus partners to develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive, data-driven strategic international recruitment plan that will achieve the university's goal to recruit, select, admit, and enroll an increasing number of diverse well-qualified international students. Travel internationally (with some local events), representing the University at recruitment/education fairs, high schools, recruitment and government agencies, and partner institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel regionally and internationally for considerable lengths of time, work evenings and weekends during peak recruitment seasons.
Serve on various committees throughout the University in support of international student admission and retention.
Review documents submitted for admission and exercise discretion and independent judgment to make admission decisions for international applicants.
Provide training as necessary for other staff members with issues related to international students and the admission process.
Analyze national recruiting best practices and review enrollment data to assess the effectiveness of recruiting strategies.
Assist in the development of promotional and recruitment materials as well as web-based strategies, including social media.
Promote the University and offer advice and guidance about the application and admission process to international students and their families, school counselors, and other international educational partners.
As a member of the Undergraduate Admission team, assist with admission recruitment events (including evening and weekend programs), information sessions, and counselor on duty responsibilities.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend appropriate professional development conferences and workshops as the budget allows.
Perform additional duties as required.
LICENSES , TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Laptops, printers, word processing, email, spreadsheets, and database software.
Required Qualifications
REQUIRED :
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Minimum of three years of experience in international admission in a competitive admission setting, including international recruitment travel and application review.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of federal immigration regulations for F-1 non- immigrant student status.
4. Demonstrated ability to organize work assignments for timely completion.
5. Demonstrated cross-cultural competency for diverse and multilingual audiences.
6. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
7. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED :
1. Master's degree.
2. Demonstrated admission or enrollment management experience.
3. Demonstrated overseas experience.
4. Demonstrated competency in a foreign language.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of J-1 status.
