We have two exciting new opportunities for administrators within our Faculty Operating Service (FOS). As a member of our team, you will make an important and rewarding contribution to our exciting, varied, and engaging activity across our university, working with colleagues and students from diverse and interesting backgrounds.
The FOS works with Faculty, Deanery and School Senior Leadership teams to support those areas of work which provide essential services to our core business of education, research, and enterprise. We underpin the achievement of the strategic objectives of the university. Our students and staff come from a wide range of backgrounds, within the UK and internationally, creating a multicultural and diverse community. You will join a supportive and friendly team. To be successful you will be a motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive team player who is culturally sensitive and is able to work effectively in a flexible and responsive environment. You will be able to build strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external organisations and groups and be able to liaise confidently with your stakeholders.
The posts available will be based in our school teams. As a member of a busy and engaged school administrative team, you will provide professional, operational assistance and administrative support to our academic community, performing a range of responsibilities which might include working on projects and activities, diary management, travel arrangements, minute taking, financial administration, supporting recruitment activities, website updates, and organising group meetings, facilities, and resources. Other activities may include maintaining school newsletters, updating web pages, maintaining digital signage and social media.
Your career so far might include some administrative work experience which allows you to use your own initiative, as well as manage your own time effectively with minimal supervision, or be looking for an opportunity to take a useful and relevant step in your career post-study. You will be adaptable, flexible, proactive and a strong team player. You will have strong interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines are also essential requirements. You will have strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office and similar software.
What we can offer you
Successful candidates will be able to work flexibly and with a hybrid option combining working remotely and spending at least 60% of contracted hours working on campus. Flexibility will be required should the business need require a greater on-site presence.
