Salary Information $33,000.00 Department Summary
The Counseling Program offers master's and doctoral degrees in counseling and undergraduate minor in counseling associate studies. The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and related Education Programs (CACREP) has conferred accreditation on the following tracks in the counseling program at UNT: clinical mental health counseling, school counseling and the PhD in counseling.
Position Overview
Administrative support for the Counseling Program. Responsibilities for this the position include assisting faculty and students with instructional support, University policies and procedures for Master and Dotoral students, as well as assisting the Administrative Coordinator in daily operations of the Counseling Program. This position will assit Faculty and Students in the Master's and Doctoral Counseling Program with day to day needs as well as preperation for future semesters and students.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree and three years of moderately responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Exceptional customer service skills. • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures. • Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others. • Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats. • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple assignments effectively. • Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness. • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships. • Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.

Job Duties
o
Advise masters and doctoral students in admissions processes, degree planning, registration, and graduation procedures. Handle registration coordination and disseminate information as needed. Communicate with the public regarding information about UNT and the Counseling Program, answer inquiries, and address complaints.
o
Coordinate administrative responsibilities with program coordinator completing or delegating tasks. Provides oral and written interpretations of policies and procedures to faculty and students. Reviews program procedures & implements changes needed.
o
Coordinates preparation of admissions data for final reports. Edit Counseling Minor, Master and Doctoral brochures and program publications. Coordinate preparation of and make necessary changes for undergraduate, masters and doctoral program handout information.
o
Maintain student and general files including specific documents regarding; application materials, student progress, grades and class materials as well as departmental and Program planning documents. Adhering to all Retention policies regarding documents.
o
Assist Chair, program & admin. coordinator in development and delegation of workload of any special projects assigned. Request student data required for reports and disseminate as needed to proper persons. Act as Liaison for the Toulouse Graduate School regularly attending meetings and functions hosted by TGS. Working closely with TGS regarding student degree planning and audits.
o
Work with faculty each semester to obtain, secure and post course syllabi, office hours, contact information, room and book requests. Monitor Audit Rolls and Grade Rosters each semester to ensure all reports are submitted to UNT by the set deadline.
o
Criminal History Background Check Administrator. Manage all communications and procedures associated with Criminal History Background checks required for COUN 5710 & 5690. Manage issues with flagged background checks to resolution. Manage and categorize background checks online.
o
Work with the UNT Book Store and Faculty each semester to ensure all books are available for students to view by the deadlines set by the State of Texas. Contact each instructor to receive confirmation on books being used each semester. Confirm this information via Faculty Enlight. Change/Update faculty names, as well as changes and/or additions to materials being used.
o
Process and ensure all LPC licensure paperwork for COUN 5720/21 students applying to the Texas State Board for licensure including; verifying dates and hours for accuracy and act as proxy for signatures and endorsement. Process all Licensure Deficiency request from students wishing to obtain licensure, and completing request for verification of internship hours for other states.
o
Assist the Program Coordinator in the scheduling of classes for each semester following the set course sequence for the Counseling Program. Monitor and communicate to the Prog. Co. data regarding; enrollment status, acceptance and registration. Assist in establishing additional courses to meet students needs as well and monitoring classes to ensure sufficient enrollment.
