Salary Information $33,660.00 Department Summary
The Computer Science and Engineering department is home to 13 Professors, 11 Associate Professors, 8 Assistant Professors, 8 Clinical faculty, 5 Lecturers, over 100 Ph.D. students, over 1,000 master's students, and over 1,200 undergraduate students. We offer a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, M. S. degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Data Engineering, ABET-accredited B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, an ABET-accredited B.A. degree in Information Technology, and a new B.S. degree in Cybersecurity. Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing more complex administrative support and customer oriented services to a department. Coordinates activities and acts as department/area liaison handling issues that are sensitive and confidential. Identifies and recommends improvements for administrative procedures, as necessary assignments vary from routine to complex in nature and require some latitude and problem solving and interpretation of departmental and university guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree and three years of moderately responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Exceptional customer service skills. • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures. • Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others. • Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats. • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple assignments effectively. • Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness. • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships. • Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.

Experience with course scheduling in higher education.

Job Duties
o
Primary job duties include scheduling courses, managing textbook adoptions, verifying student timesheets, maintaining undergraduate student records, answering phones, and completing data collection and data entry.
o
Supports Undergraduate Program in accreditation efforts, including data collection and document preparation for analysis and reporting.
o
Responsible for maintaining and updating curriculum specific information and reviewing course catalog for accuracy.
o
Act as direct point of contact for students working to participate in CPT/OPT.
o
Audits and prepares all student program certificates for the Department.
o
Provides back up support to other department administrative staff.
o
Works closely with Department Chair and Associate Chair in creating semester schedules and classroom assignments.
o
Communicates with the Registrar and Undergraduate Advising offices regarding schedule specific issues, and maintains detailed records of communication and changes.
o
Work is performed under general supervision, with assignments typically reflecting continuing responsibility for designated activities.
o
Performing diverse administrative tasks that require the use of independent judgment and initiative.
o
Facilitates the development of workflow as it relates to administrative tasks.
