Student Administration and Academic Affairs is one of the largest Professional Services departments in the University, comprising a diverse range of teams who share the same passion for enhancing our students' experiences and supporting their well-being.

We are looking to recruit an Administrative Officer for our busy Administration and Assessment Team at Winchester School of Art. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes a contributory pension scheme, a generous holiday allowance which increases with the length of service and a range of other benefits.

The Administration and Assessment Team act as a first point of contact for educational matters and supports aspects of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught student lifecycle from induction through to graduation, including maintenance of student records and support for all assessment-related processes.

You will work closely with the Team Leader, Senior Admin Officer, and key academic staff, as well as colleagues across the Student Experience Directorate and the wider University, to ensure effective and professional support for all aspects of the team's activities.

You will also have excellent IT skills, planning and organisational skills, initiative, ability to work well under pressure and be able to prioritise varied workloads. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as is a commitment to providing excellent customer service, flexibility and being receptive to new ideas and approaches. You must be a competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

As a university, we aim to create an inclusive environment that attracts, supports, and retains the best students and staff from diverse backgrounds and experiences across the world. We are proactive in fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and equality of opportunity. We believe that we can only truly meet our objectives if we are reflective of society, so we are passionate about creating a working environment in which you are free to bring your whole self to work.

We want to build a diverse and inclusive workplace, so if you are excited about this opportunity but don't align perfectly with the person specification, we strongly encourage you to apply or get in touch to discuss further.

Committed to supporting our staff and students, we are open to a flexible working approach. We consider applicants who have taken a career break.

The salary range indicates the incremental progression in the role. The starting salary for a full-time post will be £25,742 and will increment annually.

If you would like to informally discuss the post, please contact Kasia Koniec, Team Leader Administration & Assessment (email: [email protected]).
