Title Administrative Coordinator/Bowdoin Store Associate Float

The Administrative Coordinator/Bowdoin Store Associate Float will be responsible for the successful and efficient operation of all Bowdoin Store office functions but will also work on the sales floor with the rest of the store team. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Reconcile, prepare, and process daily deposits.
  • Prepare daily journal entries and departmental fund transfers.
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable.
  • Process sales, expense, and end-of-year reports.
  • Oversee auditing functions, and other miscellaneous bookkeeping duties.
  • Provide good customer service in person, over the phone, and online
  • Participate in stocking and receiving merchandise, and general cashiering.
  • This position will require a criminal background check and pre-employment physical
  • Hourly range for this position is expected to be: Minimum $20.00 – Maximum $25.00/ per hour (This role is eligible for overtime and shift differential).

    Education/Skills Requirements

    Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong data entry and computer skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently in a busy office setting with frequent interruptions.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred:

  • Degree in accounting or related field
  • Experience with Workday Finance
  • Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

    Required :

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in an office setting with working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams), database management, and POS systems.
  • Preferred :

  • Previous experience in a retail or banking environment.
  • Standard Work Days and Hours

  • Normal schedule is Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
  • Some overtime hours in the evenings and on the weekend may be necessary. Required to work for major college events and weekends.
