SUMMARY:
MCAD is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the President's Office. The
Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support
for the President's Office and providing the Senior Advisor to the President
with additional support for the operations of the Board of Trustees. The
Administrative Assistant (President's Office) must be sensitive to college
needs, employee and student goodwill, and overall brand equity of MCAD as an
employer and educational institution. With the energy of new leadership and a

DETAILS: This is a part-time, non-exempt position, expected to work 15-20
hours a week. This position reports to the Director Board Relations/Senior
Advisor to the President and is paid $19 - $21 per hour.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represents the office of the President with colleagues, students, the
Board of Trustees, and members of the public.
Coordinates and manages, with diplomacy, the complex and dynamic calendars
of the President of the College and the Senior Advisor; including
assistance with travel arrangements when needed.
Manages general office operations: oversee department mail retrieval,
sorting & routing; monitor and order office supplies, and inventory
management; maintain physical organization of the office and coordinate
maintenance of office equipment; order staff business cards and signage
updates; manage department subscriptions and contracts; co-manage
President's Office intranet sites and content, including forms, links, and
updates with respective President's Office staff.
Acts as a communications contact for the President's Office by greeting
visitors and assisting with resources and referrals (in-person, via phone
and email); monitoring general email accounts, and ensuring responses are
sent in a reasonable amount of time; referring more complex questions to
appropriate area staff.
Coordinates, attends, and takes notes for meetings, as needed or assigned.
Works closely with the Senior Advisor to support the operations of the
Board of Trustees, including but not limited to:
Organizes a yearly calendar of meetings for the Board of Trustees, the
Executive Committee, and the other committees of the Board in coordination
with and input from the President's Office, Board Chair/Co-Chairs, and
Committee Chairs/Co-Chairs.
Coordinates and manages all meeting arrangements, including space,
catering, facility/equipment needs, AV needs, and notification of
participants.
Assists with the preparation of meeting agendas and materials
Assists with the maintenance of required documents, records, and rosters
Coordinates Trustee attendance at signature events for the College
(including commencement, Auction, Art Sale, etc.)
Miscellaneous duties as needed or assigned
Works with Vice Presidents of the college, as needed and or assigned.
Coordinates and works at college special events as assigned, working with
other administrators and staff.
Supports external organizations with coordinating events at MCAD, as
needed or assigned.
Other responsibilities as needed and assigned.
Represents MCAD's vision, purpose, and values in day to day work and
interactions with MCAD students, staff, faculty, and campus guests, as
well as the greater community.
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary
education/experience preferred.
Office/administrative support or customer service experience required.
Experience with C-suite executives preferred.
Professional experience requiring and adhering to high levels of
confidentiality, diplomacy, discretion, and composure.
Track record for effective time management for self and others (such as
efficient use of meeting time, agendas, etc.).
Experience managing multiple complex and competing priorities with
positive outcomes.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
Experience with diverse populations.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate communication and collaboration across
departments.
ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional office environment.
This position requires the ability and willingness to closely partner with
team members and colleagues in other departments. This role routinely uses
standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing
cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk;
use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Upon

BACKGROUND: Founded in 1886, Minneapolis College of Art and Design is
located in the rich creative community of the Twin Cities. Recognized
nationally and internationally for its innovative approaches to art and design
education, MCAD is home to approximately 800 students from 45 states and 15
countries. The college offers bachelor's degrees in fourteen disciplines
including arts entrepreneurship, design, fine arts, and media arts; one MFA;
three online master's degrees; and continuing education classes for all ages.
