The Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System ( WCWPDS) is a major project unit housed within the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare (HBSSW) at UW-Milwaukee. In partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the Wisconsin Child Welfare Partnership for Professional Development at UW-Madison, the WCWPDS provides a full array of professional development and training services to the approximately 500 child welfare staff, supervisors and managers in Milwaukee as well as foster families and home visiting staff statewide.
The University of Wisconsin (UW) System, as part of the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), offers a comprehensive benefits package to meet the diverse needs of our community. The University contributes towards the cost of several benefit plans. Some health and life insurance premiums are deducted from salary on a pre-tax basis, saving employees money. As a new WRS eligible employee, this position will be granted 104 hours of vacation, 36 hours of personal holiday, and 9 paid legal holidays each year. Sick leave will be granted at 130 hours per year which continues to accumulate and does not expire. Job Summary
This full-time University Staff ongoing position provides administrative assistance to the Business Manager for WCWPDS. The incumbent must exercise independence in performing the duties and have the ability to follow through on tasks. The individual reports to the Business Manager, hours are flexible Monday-Friday with some remote work possible. The Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System at UW-Milwaukee takes pride in working as a team to create a positive and supportive environment for colleagues and trainees.

Starting pay is expected to be between $19-$21 per hour, negotiable based on relevant experience.
