Eastern Iowa Community Colleges are seeking qualified instructors for the following positions. Adjunct teaching may include teaching in a traditional classroom, in an online format, using streaming technology, or in a flex-class combining two or more formats.
Classes will be taught on campus face-to-face.
Scott Community College (Spring 2023 classes)There are three sections that run from January 17 through March 29. The first section is from 10 - 11:20 a.m., the second section is from 11:25 a.m. - 1:20 p.m. and the third section is 2:05 - 3:30 p.m. All sections run Monday through Friday.
Minimum qualifications: Master's Degree Psychology or a Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology (all types), Counseling, Behavioral Studies, Human Development, Human Services, Psychiatry, Studies in Human Behavior, and Psychology Education. Twelve hours must be in Psychology and/or Counseling. Community College teaching or training experience is preferred.

Scott Community College is looking for an adjunct instructor to teach Math during the Spring 2023 semester. All Math courses, including PreAlgebra, Algebra, Math for Liberal Arts, Statistics, and Calculus among others. The courses will be taught in a face-to-face learning environment at our Belmont Campus.
Math: The minimum qualifications are a Master's degree in Mathematics or a Master's degree in Math Education or related field with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics. Experience teaching at a community college is preferred.
Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 (Developmental Math) – Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or related field. Experience teaching high school level math courses preferred.
Graphic Arts (Graphic Arts Program) – Minimum qualifications: Must possess either a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts or related field, or possess 6,000 hours of relevant tested experience/education.
Sanitation & Safety (Culinary Program) – Minimum qualifications: Must possess a ServSafe Instructor or proctor food license
General Biology – Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Biology or any Master's degree with 12 graduate hours in Biology and 6 additional graduate hours in a combination of Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Botany, Environmental Science, Horticulture, Marine Biology, Microbiology, Science Education, Virology, Zoology.
Intro to Computers (IT) - Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Information Technology or any master's degree with 18 graduate hours in a combination of the qualifying fields of computers, computer software applications, or business software application.
Introduction to Criminal Justice (Criminal Justice Program) – Minimum qualifications: Master's in Criminal Justice or any master's degree with 12 GSH in Criminal Justice or Law and additional 6 graduate hours in a combination of Criminal Justice, Law, Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology.
Ethics in Criminal Justice (Criminal Justice Program) – Minimum qualifications: Master's in Criminal Justice or any master's degree with 12 GSH in Criminal Justice or Law and additional 6 graduate hours in a combination of Criminal Justice, Law, Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology.
Introduction to Corrections (Criminal Justice) – Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Criminal Justice or Master's degree with 18 GSH in a combination of qualifying fields that provide a foundation in Corrections.
Windows Workstation Op Syst. (IT) - Minimum qualifications: Must possess either a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or possess 6,000 hours of relevant tested experience/education.
Intro to Programming Logic (IT) - Minimum qualifications: Must possess either a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or possess 6,000 hours of relevant tested experience/education.
Intro to Sociology - Minimum qualifications: are a master's in Sociology or any Master's Degree with at least 18 graduate hours in a combination of the qualifying fields of Sociology, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Criminology, Gerontology, Public Policy or Social Work. Twelve of the eighteen graduate hours must be in Sociology, Anthropology, and/or Cultural Studies. Courses will be taught in a face-to-face learning environment at Davenport North HS as part of the Dual Enrolled Program.
Java (IT) - Minimum qualifications: Must possess either a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or possess 6,000 hours of relevant tested experience/education.
Microeconomics - Minimum qualifications: are a master's in Economics or Econometrics or any Master's Degree with at least 18 graduate hours in a combination of the qualifying fields of Economics, Econometrics, Business, Business Administration or Finance. Twelve of the eighteen graduate hours must be in Economics and/or Econometrics. ECN 130: Microeconomics will be taught during the Spring 2023 semester. The courses will be taught in a face-to-face learning environment at Davenport North HS as part of the Dual Enrolled Program.
Python (IT) - Minimum qualifications: Must possess either a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or possess 6,000 hours of relevant tested experience/education.
