We are seeking instructors dedicated to excellence in teaching who desire to make a difference in the lives of our students. Teaching assignments are primarily located in the Austin campus. The instructor may be assigned to teach in a traditional classroom and lab format as well as online, hybrid and interactive television formats. Activities related to comprehensive community college teaching and learning, including but not limited to: instructional planning and delivery; teaching and facilitating student learning; curriculum planning and development; assessment of student performance; classroom management; and maintenance of professional skills and credentials; The candidate must be able to work cooperatively with faculty and staff, demonstrate knowledge of and experience in assessment of student learning outcomes, participate in department meetings, college-wide committees, and maintain ongoing professional development activities.

Required Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education Requirement

  • Associate degree and a graduate of an accredited massage therapy program. Occupational Experience Requirement
  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in the massage therapy industry.
  • Recency Requirement

  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field.
  • The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
  • Professional Requirement

  • Current individual certification by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) or successful completion of the MBLEx examination offered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Community College Teaching Experience
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Experience in developing and delivering fully online courses
  • Ability to provide leadership in curriculum development and academic assessment activities
  • Commitment to departmental participation, vision, and planning
  • Ability to work with a diverse student body including multilingual or multicultural and under-served populations
