Adjunct Lecturer in Law - Business Principles in Law

USC Gould School of Law is seeking an instructor to teach our online Business Principles in Law class for the Fall 2021 semester, which runs from September 8 to December 21, 2021. Curriculum will be provided to the instructor, and all teaching will be done remotely. Students enrolled in this course will be in our Online LLM, Online MSL and various of our Online Certificate programs.

We expect that the instructor will spend approximately 10-15 hours of work per week on instruction of the course, including the timely grading of assignments and communication with students. Candidates should have strong professional background in the field, preferably with law school and/or online teaching experience.

Business Principles in Law introduces students to the basic principles and practices of contemporary business so that they can be more effective professionals when advising business clients and/or better leverage their internal and external legal resources. The course will focus on fundamental business concepts, including, an introduction to accounting, business strategy, management, finance and risk. Additionally, the course will cover the challenges business leaders face in the contemporary economic, political, and social environment. Course sessions will include lectures, guest speakers, and analysis and discussion of real world situations.

USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full- time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year but, in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
