The College of Music and the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas come together for the MBA in Music Business. This cutting-edge program combines a top-quality business administration curriculum with hands-on learning in music classes geared towards entrepreneurship and business tools for the 21st-century musician. Built upon the foundation of the Music Business & Entrepreneurship program, this MBA features a curriculum in management, marketing, finance, media, and more for direct application to the music industry. The MBA in Music Business welcomes students from all musical backgrounds including classical, jazz, and commercial music.

Position Summary

The Department of Keyboard Studies seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses to develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.

The anticipated need is to teach one class in Music Law and Finance, to cover topics including the basics of music law, music copyright issues, contract negotiation, funding opportunities, and financial management for music businesses and ventures. Fifty-one percent of teaching is to be on campus with the remaining being on Zoom.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in any major, followed by a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience teaching at the university level is preferred.
