Position Description:

Dominican University invites applications for an adjunct instructor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences. This position is open for the Spring 2022 with a potential for reappointment. Responsibilities will include undergraduate instruction in the Food and Nutrition Services Administration course, NUTR 346, utilizing online and/or hybrid pedagogies for Nutrition and Dietetics students. Dominican University is a selective liberal arts institution with a growing population of Nutrition Science majors.

Course Title: Food and Nutrition Services Administration (NUTR 346)

Course Description:

The course will apply operational leadership theories to the development of food and nutrition programs and services. Students will learn to evaluate budgets and interpret financial data. They will also learn to apply principles of human resource management, interpret public policy, and understand the legislative and regulatory basis of dietetic practice.

Schedule: Section available meets via online delivery on Wednesdays 5:30 PM-8:30 PM;

  • Demonstrate technological competency with the ability to work in online capacity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly, concisely, and accurately; friendly, persuasive speaking and writing style.
  • Well organized; conscientious and gives careful attention to detail
  • Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree is required.
  • Demonstrated background of knowledge or experience in nutrition
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusive pedagogy
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in teaching.
  • Prior teaching experience in online or hybrid pedagogies is preferred but not essential.
