Position Title Adjunct Instructor - Instructional Technology & Design Department Teaching, Learning, & Leadership FLSA Exempt General Description

The University of North Alabama invites applications for adjunct (part-time) teaching positions expected to be available in the area of Instructional Technology & Design. Persons holding adjunct teaching positions normally teach three to six credit hours or nine contact hours per semester. Payment for adjunct teaching is on a standardized university scale according to credit or contact hours taught.

Application for this position is application for addition to an adjunct pool from which qualified, vetted instructors will be selected based on enrollment and need per semester.

Essential Job Duties

  • Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance as may be scheduled or required;
  • Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the course;
  • Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select course-related materials.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and instruction;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of a diverse student body;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of curriculum development.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate is required;
  • 18 graduate hours in Educational/Instructional Technology is required;
  • Professional experience in the field is required;
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred.
