General Information of Campus and Unit
NMSU Carlsbad is a two-year branch community college of New Mexico State
University and is independently accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
For 1998, 1999, and 2000, NMSU Carlsbad was the only two-year college in the
state to be recognized consecutively by Quality New Mexico. NMSU Carlsbad has
a student population of approximately 2,000 students, approximately 41 full-
time faculty members, 63 part-time faculty members and 72 full-time staff
members. The mission of NMSU Carlsbad is to provide students the resources
necessary for them to fulfill their educational potential so that they may
help meet the needs of their community as well-trained, well-educated and
productive citizens. NMSU Carlsbad, a diverse and community-centered
institution dedicated to excellence and student success through transformative
discovery. NMSU is classified as a Hispanic-serving institution by the federal
government with a total minority enrollment over 48%.
In the Spring of 2022, NMSU Carlsbad will become an independent community
college, Southeast New Mexico College. All NMSU Carlsbad employees will
transfer to Southeast New Mexico College during this time.

Position Job Title Adjunct Instructor for Criminal Justice
Tenure Status Non-Tenure Track
The successful candidate will teach courses in Criminal Justice. Teach
weekends, evenings and online as needed/assigned. Teach effectively to a
diverse student body.
The successful candidate should have a Master's degree in Criminal Justice
from accredited university; OR Master's degree in a closely related field from
an accredited university with a minimum of 18 credit hours of graduate level
course work. They should also have familiarity with Canvas and experience in
teaching community college (a plus).
