The class begins the week of January 27 and ends on May 19, 2022.
Course Description: Survey of the theories and research findings regarding
lifespan human development from infancy to late adulthood. Cultural, social,
and biological factors are considered. Cognitive development and psycho-social
influences on various lifecycle stages are emphasized. Prerequisite: PSY
103Minimum Requirement and qualifications:
Ph.D. in psychology preferred, Masters degree in psychology or counseling
Ability to teach the course themes including the biological, cognitive,
and social aspects of development across the lifespan.
Must incorporate student-centered active learning in a classroom setting.
Prior teaching or presentation experience is desirable.
Ability to teach the class from start to finish, holding class each
scheduled class period. Ability to teach college-level students
Ability to design and administer assessments to measure student learning.
Ability to challenge students in critical and creative thinking.
Ability to advance students' communication skills through course format
