Position: Adjunct Faculty for Chemistry
Department: Adult & Online Education - Extended Campus (Ft. Bragg/Pope)
Status: Adjunct/Part Time
Campbell University's Fort Bragg & Pope Campus offers a degree program in
Health Science to highly motivated students. We are seeking an Adjunct Faculty
Instructor to teach Chemistry courses beginning as early as August Classes are
8 weeks in duration and are offered in hybrid (virtual and in person)
formats in the evenings. This is an in resident program and will require face-
to-face lecture and labs. We serve a wonderful population of military and
military affiliated students and have a strong team of academic professionals
that take pride in helping education our military population.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruct Chemistry courses, to include Organic Chemistry.
Develop and manage course materials from learning objectives and selected
textbook provided by the department chair.
Select and administer tests, assignments and online discussion exercises
that permit measurement of performance relative to the course learning
Implement any program assessments as designed by the department or school.
Complete Campbell University's Powell training prior to teaching the
Evaluate and assess student performance.
Post grades on the Blackboard Grade Center as well as Campbell's Self-
Maintain technical resources and ability to teach via remote formats.
Maintain professional communications with students and staff at all times.
Respond promptly, no later than 24 hours, to student and campus staff
emails and requests for assistance.

Be able to obtain and maintain access to the Fort Bragg Army post and

or Assistant Dean of Online Education.
Ph.D. in Chemistry or other graduate/professional education in related
field of study (all graduate work must be documented with official
transcripts submitted to the university upon request)
Credentialed (or ability to otain credentials) to teach relevant Organic
Experience in teaching adult students is desirable
Prior teaching experience is desirable
Experience working with a learning management system is required
The successful candidate may need to travel to the main campus at Buies
Creek, N.C. for an interview, meeting and/or training
Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and standard
methods of digital communication such as web/text/chat platforms
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing
with faculty, staff, students, university officials and the public
Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a
diverse group of people
Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations
Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines
Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment
