The Occupational Safety & Health Department at the University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking part-time adjunct instructors. The Department offers courses at the associate and bachelor's degree levels. The Department seeks an experienced individual for term adjunct instructor pool to teach 100-200 level courses throughout the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program curriculum.
Duties:Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of accepted instruction methods. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Public speaking skills. Customer service skills. The ability to effectively teach complicated technical content. The ability to document operational, safety, and environmental procedures in an industrial setting.
Typical Experience:
2 Years relevant experience.
Required Education or Training:
Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or Industrial Hygiene or field related to the position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. One or more national-recognized safety related certifications (i.e. ASP, CSP, or CIH).
Salary Information:
Salary based on number of previous semesters teaching experience within the University of Alaska.
This is a pooled position and adjuncts will be hired as needed.

This is an at-will, union represented adjunct position, and may be canceled based upon the needs of the university.
