Adjunct faculty are valued as an integral and vital component of the University's teaching staff, providing unique and valuable perspectives and contributions. We have an excellent opportunity for Adjunct Faculty to join our highly engaged teaching staff in the Department of Management and Marketing. In this role, the successful candidate will teach courses primarily in our Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration programs to students seeking to gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the areas of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, focusing on procurement and supply chain management.

Note: This position will be primarily teaching onsite at one of our San Diego, California campuses (Spectrum Center and ASW Fleet Naval base in Point Loma) with options for online teaching, for 4-week graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Lead classroom sessions on-site and/or online according to university policies
  • Provide expertise in assigned content areas by maintaining current knowledge in the field
  • Respond to student needs in a timely fashion or typically within 48 hours
  • Provide substantive feedback to students, grade assignments, and post grades
  • Participate in online class discussion boards
  • Have a strong emphasis on student-centered learning by encouraging participation in their own learning and promoting student inquiry
  • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related disciplines (i.e., M.B.A. with Specialization in Supply Chain Management) from a regionally accredited university
  • At least five (5) years of professional work experience in a related field of supply chain management, focused on purchasing and supply management
  • Proficiency in common internet tools, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must reside and be eligible to work in the United States
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree (i.e., Ph.D., D.B.A.) in a related field (i.e., Management, Supply Chain Management, etc.) from a regionally accredited university
  • Ten (10) years of professional experience in a related field
  • Five (5) years of on-site and/or online teaching experience in a related discipline
  • ISM Certification, CPIM Certification, or similar equivalent certification

  • If selected, candidates with international degrees may be required to submit translation/degree evaluation from one of our approved agencies
  • Physical Demands/Environment:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal and requires color vision and depth perception. The work is performed in an office environment and outside the office as necessary.
