Applications for Adjunct Faculty will be accepted on an ongoing basis and
will be reviewed as needed. Please upload a CV, cover letter, teaching
statement, and the names and contact information of three (3) professional
references. Applicants should indicate which campus they are willing to accept
theses interim assignments at in their cover letter.
Adjunct faculty members facilitate students' achievement of course objectives
and prepare college students to matriculate through the undergraduate program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide face-to-face, interactive video, or online course delivery and instruction.
Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required course documentation in a timely manner.
Communicate course requirements and expectations to students.
Coordinate course schedule with other faculty teaching the same course.
Assist students with course material as necessary, potentially outside of class time.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree in biological sciences or closely related field from an
18 hours of graduate level coursework in biological sciences.
Background check clearance.
- Uphold the mission and values of USM, College of Arts and Sciences, and the
School of Biological, Environmental, and Earth Sciences.
Teaching, mentoring and service experience at a university level. Experience
with Canvas technology.
