The College of Pharmacy, Sciences, and Health at Roosevelt University invites applications for a Nursing Clinical Instructor, adj position to begin March . The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate clinical nursing sections with a focus on Medical-Surgical, Psychiatric, Women's Health/OB nursing or Fundamentals of care. The successful candidate(s) will add value to the university community through activities including but not limited to participation in Roosevelt University Inclusive Excellence initiatives, and/or external outreach. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Clinical Competence: Able to function with professional accountability in clinical settings.
Teaching Competence: Able to create a climate conducive to positive student learning.
Technology Competence: Able to use computer technology (Word, Power Point, E-mail, Internet) at a minimum
Recognize the importance of distance education and be willing to facilitate distance education in the absence of face to face learning.
Provide a high level of professional nursing care to patients and clients.
Function as a role model for professional nursing and communicate this role to students.
Accept shared responsibility for the planning and implementation of assigned courses, program planning activities, and other needs of the academic programs.
Provide a supportive learning environment for students.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, staff, students, agency personnel, and others as necessary in providing public service.
Ability to articulate and model Roosevelt University's mission, vision and values
Physical Requirements: Able to work 8-12 hour shifts in a clinical setting if required Reliable transportation .
Years of Experience Required 2 Required Education Masters Degree Certification/Licensure Required
Current unencumbered RN license in Illinois
Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing
Additional ongoing certifications and training desired
Demonstrate commitment to continued professional learning.
Practice: minimum of two years of successful clinical nursing practice.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum two years of teaching experience.
Equipment Operated Working Conditions
Standard Office setting; clinical setting as required.
