Job Summary/Basic Function
The ADA Compliance Coordinator is responsible for:
Responsibilities include counseling, advising, and assessing to confirm
services needed for students with disabilities
Consulting with faculty, staff, parents, and other stakeholders about the
developmental, career, support and mental health needs of students with
disabilities
Coordinator services within and outside of the university
Ensuring Adults with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance through the
university
Conducting ADA and Section 504 training workshops
Educating and promoting Office of Academic Empowerment and Accessibility
(OAEA) programs/ services in classrooms, residence halls, and during
student orientation sessions
Facilitating accommodations for students and visitors with disabilities
Serves as the ADA/ Section 504 Coordinator for CSU and as the consultant
on learning accommodations
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven ability to work productively with faculty, students, staff and
community organizations
Strong communication skills
Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Experience implementing effective strategies to provide reasonable
accommodations for disabilities
Knowledge of assessment tools as applied to educational settings,
assistive technology, and legal considerations affecting employees and
students with disabilities
Masters degree in Rehabilitation or Mental Health Counseling, Psychology,
Social Work or related field. 2-5 years of experience working with people
with disabilities in a rehabilitation or educational institution
Licensure of LPC (Licensure Professional Counselor) or LSW (Licensed
Social Worker) preferred
