Title Accounts Receivable Specialist - Cashier

The Accounts Receivable Representative will handle the centralized cash depository function for the Controller's Office which includes:

  • Verifying and processing all funds; reconcile, prepare and transport bank deposits
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for students, families and departments relating to Accounts Receivable inquiries
  • Collecting and posting a variety of transactions to student accounts
  • Operating the cashier window including: accepting and verifying deposits/payments
  • Processing petty cash transactions and balancing petty cash drawer daily; replenish as needed
  • Estimating own work plan and priorities in accordance with accepted procedures, referring to supervisor for guidance and exceptions
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
  • Hourly range for this position is expected to be: Minimum $18.00 – Maximum $24.00 per hour.

    Education/Skills Requirements

    Required :

  • High School: Diploma or GED
  • Strong data entry and computer skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with students, faculty, staff and others associated with the College
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently in busy office setting with frequent interruptions
  • Must be comfortable working in multiple software environments with extremely confidential information
  • A valid Driver's license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College's Motor Vehicle Use Policy required
  • Preferred :

  • Associates Degree in Accounting preferred
  • Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

    Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, cash management or bank setting with accounting duties; demonstrated cash handling and PC experience required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Preferred:

  • Experience with Workday Student, Workday Finance and/or Ellucian Banner Accounts Receivable preferred
  • Standard Work Days and Hours

    First shift, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime required.
