Position Summary
The Accounting Analyst is responsible for all transactions, processes, and
reporting relating to Taylor University's investments (a portfolio of over
$180 million), this includes monitoring and forecasting cash and investment
levels. She/he will also support audit processes, and contribute to the daily
operations of the Business Office.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible to:
Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief
in the University's Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life
Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the
Foundational Documents of Taylor University.
Oversee daily processing, accounting, and reporting for University
investments; ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with
University, local, state, and federal requirements, and standard
accounting and audit procedures.
Analyze, reconcile, balance, and maintain accounting records.
Interpret and analyze investment performance and transactions to monitor
cash and investments; prepare cash forecasts for management review.
Coordinate the preparation of regularly scheduled reports and analyses.
Ensure the most effective and efficient use of University resources by
regularly engaging in process or system analysis and by assisting in the
updating of system-wide policies and procedures.
Assist with audit activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or relevant field, or
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge and expertise in accounting, including practical experience in
bookkeeping and/or cash management.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact warmly and
professionally with colleagues and external partners.
Clear, direct, timely, and compassionate written and verbal communication
style.
Competent in utilizing various computer software, including reporting
tools, database systems, and Microsoft Office suite; ability and
willingness to learn new software programs.
Aptitude with numbers, especially financial data.
Detail-oriented and able to identify errors in own work, self-correcting
as needed.
Possesses good problem-solving and organization skills; self-directed and
self-motivated in job-related tasks.
Able to identify process and control gaps and weaknesses, and innovate
process improvements
Self-directed and self-motivated in job-related tasks.
Adaptable and flexible to change tasks quickly; collaborative team player
who can also work independently.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

This position is full-time, exempt, and located in Upland, Indiana.
