We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Accommodation Operations Coordinator to join our Accommodation team at Agricola, Curtin's student accommodation complex in Kalgoorlie. This role is pivotal in enhancing community spirit, supporting student well-being, and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Accommodation Coordination: Assist the Accommodation Manager with the daily operations of the Agricola residential accommodation, ensuring all administrative processes are effectively managed.
  • Resident Wellbeing: Deliver exceptional support to students by offering guidance, pastoral care, and handling sensitive issues and critical incidents with care and professionalism.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and implement the RezLife program, which includes organising community events, weekly food nights, and initiatives, such as, R U OK day, to foster a positive residential experience.
  • Operational Coordination: Work closely with the Accommodation Manager to manage maintenance contractors, conduct routine inspections, prepare reports, and ensure the quality of the facilities.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in managing emergency situations, including fire, mental health crises, and other incidents, ensuring they are promptly attended to by relevant authorities.
  • Leadership: Support the Accommodation Manager with overseeing Resident Assistants, including rostering, mentoring, briefing and acting as an escalation point when required.
  • Who we're looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience working in residential accommodation, property management, and/or related field.
  • A genuine passion for enhancing the student experience, with a focus on fostering a strong, supportive, and inclusive community.
  • Expertise in overseeing daily operations, including maintenance, inspections, and resident engagement.
  • Strong organisational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing sensitive issues, including mental health concerns, behavioural challenges, and other crisis situations.
  • Work Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work outside normal office hours, including being on-call for emergency maintenance and pastoral care issues.
  • A valid Class C driver's license.
  • Current First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certificates (preferred, but not essential as this will be provided upon commencement).
  • Must have current work rights in Australia matching the tenure of the role.
  • Based in Kalgoorlie, WA. Relocation and sponsorship support are not available.
