An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Accommodation Service. We are advertising to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Accommodation Administrator with an ability to meet high service standards and raise the profile of the service.

The successful candidate will have experience of undertaking a variety of administrative duties in a busy office environment and will also have been responsible for providing excellent customer service.

A suitable candidate will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as you will be dealing with a variety of people, including students and staff, on a regular basis. They will work well independently and as part of a team.

We require a person who is highly computer literate. Some knowledge of the HE sector and/or residential accommodation would be an advantage but is not essential.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Job Title: Accommodation Administrator

    Faculty/Directorate: Student Success

    Job Purpose:

    To assist with the day-to-day running and administration of the Accommodation Service. To give advice and support regarding accommodation matters to students, colleagues and members of the public.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide excellent customer service to students and colleagues at all times.
  • Assist with all the aspects of management of the halls of residence, including but not limited to, collection of rent and debt management, addressing student issues, maintenance and checking cleanliness.
  • Support the Accommodation Officer with managing our online presence, including our web pages and social media presence.
  • Assist with the testing and management of the service's software system and access database.
  • Assist with Uxbridge and Aylesbury service provision and, from time to time, visit other campuses.
  • Help to provide a private sector service.
  • Assist with lifestyle issues and student behaviour in halls, including student interviews and administration.
  • Handle student allocations and bookings, cancellations and transfers across all accommodation.
  • Undertake the rent collection and debt management duties.
  • Representing the Accommodation Service at Open Days and any other events required.
  • To complete any general administration.
  • Provide front of house general enquiries and provide cover when necessary.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required by the Accommodation Manager.
