The Academic Support Services Coordinator, under the direction of an Assistant Director or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.

Performs one or more advising administrative functions while working directly with online program applicants and students and families to answer educational questions and concerns. Provides one-on-one assistance to the public in person, over the telephone, and through e-mail or other written correspondence. Assists with typical front desk duties (greets visitors, answer phone calls, monitor Zoom walk-ins, schedule appointments/meetings) alongside the BCH Advising administrative assistant as needed. Performs related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of the department. Problem solves and trouble shoots. Collects and analyzes data as appropriate with discretionary use under FERPA rules, for use in handling all student activities. Assists university/Board of Trustees/Board of Governors administrators and institutional groups in resolving specific academic success and/or registration problems and in disseminating information in regard to SUS/university rules, policies, and contracts. May serve as liaison between university administrators, students, parents, faculty, staff, and others regarding advising activities.

Must be familiar with, or be willing and able to quickly and accurately learn the policies, practices and functions of the University of North Florida. Must be intimately familiar with all aspects of University and College policies along with the operations of other units with whom common collaboration is needed. Must be able to perform processing and work tasks.
Experience working in customer service setting required. Experience in higher education admissions/enrollment services experience strongly encouraged. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (both spoken and written) are required. Must possess a strong sense of the importance of customer service. Must be well organized. Must have capacity to learn and implement strong conflict resolution skills. Must have strong computer skills. Must be familiar with enrollment services activities and responsibilities within the SUS. Total support of the goals, initiatives, policies and procedures of Academic Advising as set by both the President and the Provost is required.
