  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of academic programs and teaching support within the School of Mathematics and Statistics

  • About the Role The Academic Support Officer is responsible for contributing to the planning and delivery of academic programs within the School of Mathematics & Statistics, with a focus on exams, results, and special considerations. This role involves ensuring effective academic program administration and collaborating closely with various academic support teams and student services.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the delivery of academic programs and graduate research support, including exams, results, and graduate research completion seminars
  • Provide administrative support to relevant academic committees, students, and academic staff, including liaising with senior academic staff and colleagues in the Academic Support Office
  • Assist in student induction, orientation, and support, ensuring access to resources and facilities, and guiding students through the Special Consideration process
  • Collaborate with Student and Scholarly Services, Student Equity and Disability Support, and Faculty to facilitate student engagement and ensure the seamless delivery of academic services
  • Who We Are Looking For You bring a natural ability to provide administrative support, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality. You have the capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team, interpret and provide advice in accordance with organisational procedures and policies, and deliver high- quality service while relating effectively to diverse stakeholders.

    You will also have:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • High-quality service delivery and effective communication skills
  • Familiarity with student and learning management systems
  • Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks effectively
