About the Role Located in the Faculty of Arts, the Academic Support Office (ASO) supports the development, delivery, and quality assurance of teaching and learning activities. The ASO manages essential functions in the following key areas: selection, scholarships, undergraduate, and graduate coursework and graduate research programs, student enrichment, and eTeaching and eResearch.

The role of the Academic Programs Officer sits within the Curriculum Delivery Support Team in the ASO. As the Academic Programs Officer, you will play a key role in the successful operation and organisation of the ASO's activities and provides support across the Faculty. You will work collaboratively across the ASO to deliver high-quality support in the administration of undergraduate, honours, and graduate coursework programs in Schools and the wider Faculty.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively within and across functional areas to ensure broader Faculty goals and objectives are being met
  • High-level administrative support for undergraduate, honours, and coursework programs across the faculty in conjunction with other Curriculum Delivery Support Staff
  • Providing successful teaching and learning support across the Faculty including results processing, production of the timetable, student timetabling, and other teaching and learning activities
  • About You You will bring excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with an ability to relate positively on an individual basis with a wide range of people from students to senior management. You will demonstrate the ability to exercise independent and informed judgment in problem-solving as well as the ability to exercise sensitivity, discretion and confidentiality in interactions with students and academic and professional staff at all levels.

    You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide high-level administrative support
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, with the ability to time-manage and to meet deadlines.
  • To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.
