Position Summary Information
Objective
The position's primary duty is to provide academic advising to students. Academic advising includes individual and small group educational planning. This will include but not be limited to student success, providing assistance in career planning, planning for academic transfer, and/or completion of an Associates degree. It will include working with specific special populations of students across the Blinn College campus and all majors.
Required Quals Summary
Bachelor's Degree, 1-2 years related working experience.

The Office of Academic Advising is expected to remain open during the office hours as posted on the Blinn College website of Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. On occasion student advising may exceed the normal work hours and the Academic Advisor is expected to remain on the premise until the student(s) is finished with their advising session.
In addition, the Office of Academic Advising hosts different Student Service events which may take place after hours and/or on a Saturday which is considered a non-work day. Staff members of Academic Advising may be asked to work after hours and on a non-work day.
