Associação para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento de Ciências, for the
project/R&D institution NEUROBIOAI - Artificial intelligencebased
neuroimaging biomarkers for the diagnosis of neuropsychiatric illnesses,
DSAIPA/DS/0065/2018, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia,
I.P./MCTES through national funds (PIDDAC) under the programme Data Science
and Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration - 2018, under the
Scientific Area: Data Science, Statistics, Biomedical Engineering.
Requirements for admission: BSc in Data Science, Statistics, Biomedical Engineering or other engineering degrees and related fields.
Additional optional skills and qualifications: Previous knowledge and/or experience in signal processing or machine learning.
Contracting requirements: Presentation of the academic qualifications and/or diplomas. Enrolment in a Masters or in a non-degree course developed in association or cooperation between a High Education Institution and one or multiple research units.
Work plan: Participation in an academic-clinical-entrepreneurial joint-venture involving: 1) Statistical analysis of magnetic resonance imaging data with a range of pattern recognition and machine learning methods, in a translational (medtech, digital medicine) and innovative study aiming at the development of a software biomarker for the differential diagnosis of neurodegenerative illnesses, for clinical use, in a team of engineers and neuroscientists; with Portuguese and UK hospital data. 2) User experience test and clinical usefulness trial of the said software with medical teams in Portuguese hospitals. 3) Work to be done in highly interdisciplinary and international lab: dpratalab.wordpress.com, and start-up company NeuroPsyAI, Ltd.
Legislation framework: Research Fellowship Holder Statute, in accordance with Law 40/2004, of 18 August, in its current version and the FCT Regulation for Research Studentships and Fellowships, in its current version (Reg. 950/2019 published in DR on 16th December: https: // dre.pt/application/file/a/127230968, or at the FCT website: https: // www. fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml.pt), and FCiências.ID Fellowship Regulation, as approved on 12th May 2020 (available at Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação Científica da FCiências.ID).
Place of work: The work will be developed at the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon- under the scientific supervision of Professor Diana Prata.
Fellowship duration: This position is initially opened for 3 months due to start in August 2022. The fellowship contract may be potentially renewed for until end of project, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation of Research Fellowships from the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P.
Monthly allowance: The fellowship amounts to € 1 144,64 ,according to table values of the fellowships awarded directly by the FCT, IP. The fellowship holder will have a personal accident insurance and can ensure the right to social security through adherence to the voluntary social insurance scheme, if not covered by any other social protection scheme, pursuant to Código dos Regimes Contributivos do Sistema Previdencial de Segurança Social.
The fellowship will be paid monthly by bank transfer
Evaluation and selection process: Candidates will be assessed by the quality of their CV (70%) and Interview (30%).
