We are now inviting applications for a Research and Development Director to strengthen our university's research and development activities and to work for the benefit of our multidisciplinary research community in the field of networked international research. This is a permanent position with a starting date in February 2025 or as agreed.
Your role
As a Research and Development Director, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the university's research and development activities in collaboration with the vice-rector of research and the heads of units. You will proactively promote research initiatives together with units, platforms, and management, as well as with the surrounding international community and ecosystem. You will enhance the university's visibility in the research and development field and advance research capabilities, particularly in terms of laboratories, data resources, and collaboration networks.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will work closely with the vice-rector of research, research services, partnerships, platforms, and units. You will keep yourself updated on the latest trends and developments in the field and their opportunities in the university environment.
You will report to the vice-rector of research of the University of Vaasa.

Requirements
Knowledge of the research sector is considered an advantage. Previous experience in the fields of technology, energy technology, or business studies is also considered an advantage.
