The positions will primarily support either the our St Lucia, Dutton Park, Herston or Gatton precinct, though you may be required to work flexibly across other precincts.
We are seeking motivated individuals to support the implementation of Blackboard Ultra across various course offerings. This one-year role focuses on facilitating the transition from Blackboard Original to Ultra, bringing enhanced benefits to both staff and students. Successful candidates will start on January 1st and receive comprehensive induction and training to ensure success in the role.
We have multiple roles available that will report into the relevant Faculty (HMBS, EAIT, Science, BEL, HASS) and one position in ITaLI, guided and supported by eLSS and leadership of the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI). Successful candidates will be expected to meet specific key performance indicators over the project duration.
Key responsibilities will include:
Coordinate and complete tasks to transition courses from Original to Ultra.
Provide training and guidance to Course Coordinators, focusing on reducing workload and maintaining pedagogical quality.
Enhance accessibility and inclusion by ensuring consistent content and navigation and applying UDL principles. Identify and reduce manual and sub-optimal workflows.
Optimise the student experience by leveraging new Ultra features, including mobile-friendly interfaces and integrations with other UQ systems.
Provide high-level advice and guidance to teaching staff on using Ultra.
Develop and deliver workshops and resources to support faculty in effective Ultra usage. Collaborate with colleagues to optimise digital teaching and learning practices for staff and students.
Possess a relevant degree with 4+ years of experience (ideally in education/learning design) or demonstrate extensive experience and management expertise in educational technologies. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Proven ability to support academics in using educational technology to design, deliver, and manage online courses effectively. This includes a strong understanding of current learning management systems and emerging educational software.
Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training materials for academic staff. You can effectively translate technical information into clear and understandable language for diverse audiences.
A self-motivated, resilient, and solution-focused individual with the ability to achieve results through effective teamwork and independent work.
You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
