The GreenTech Hub, a key initiative of the Cook Government and Chevron-
operated Gorgon Joint Venture, is designed to drive decarbonisation efforts
and foster sustainable practices across industries in WA.
We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Director to lead the GreenTech Hub
in its establishment, operation, and mission to integrate green technologies
into businesses, government, and communities. This exciting opportunity will
allow you to drive innovation and collaboration, connect stakeholders, and
help shape the future of green technologies in WA.
Your new role
As Director, you will work closely with Curtin's world-class research teams,
government departments, industry leaders, startups, and SMEs to develop
cutting-edge solutions and scale up green innovations. You will spearhead
efforts to reduce carbon emissions, promote sustainability, and develop a
thriving GreenTech ecosystem. You will also be part of a world-class academic
community that values excellence, integrity, and making a positive impact on
society.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision for
the GreenTech Hub in alignment with its mission to drive green technology
development across WA.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a dedicated team to deliver key
initiatives and ensure the Hub's successful operation.
Advocacy: Promote the importance of green technologies in reducing
greenhouse gas emissions, emphasising their potential for environmental
sustainability and economic growth.
Partnership Building: Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships
with industry sectors such as energy, mining, agriculture, and
manufacturing, as well as government agencies, universities, and other key
stakeholders.
Innovation Challenges: Co-design and execute innovation challenges
that incentivise the adoption of green technologies to reduce emissions
across various industries.
Capacity Building: Develop and implement state-wide programs to
support start-ups and green technology providers in scaling up and
commercialising new solutions.
Events and Knowledge Transfer: Organise workshops, seminars, and
networking events that promote collaboration and showcase green technology
innovations.
Education and Training: Collaborate with educational and training
institutions to support the growth of skills in green technologies across
WA.
Investment Attraction : Leverage GreenTech initiatives from the
Commonwealth and industry to attract investment for research, development,
and commercialisation of green technologies.
Advisory Support: Provide expert advisory support to industry
stakeholders and government on green technology solutions and
collaborative opportunities.

Selection Criteria
A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g.,
Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Innovation) and
extensive industry or tertiary engagement experience.
Deep understanding of sustainability and green technologies, particularly
within the innovation ecosystem, and the role of universities, industry,
and government in advancing green solutions.
Proven ability to conceptualise, implement, and commercialise
technological innovations, especially in the green technology sector.
Demonstrated success in securing funding for new innovations, capacity-
building programs, and green technology initiatives.
Broad awareness of key industry sectors (energy, mining, agriculture,
manufacturing) and academic disciplines related to green technology and
innovation.
Strong track record in leading cross-sector collaborations, and
establishing and maintaining senior relationships with industry,
government, and academic partners.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to lead high-level
negotiations, influence key stakeholders, and drive engagement with
diverse partners.
Experience in designing and delivering educational and training programs
to promote engagement and collaboration within the green technology
sector.
Experience representing an organisation at senior levels and in the
broader community, including professional bodies and industry networks.
