THE ROLE
We are seeking Early Childhood Teachers for two of our Early Learning Centres at Macquarie University:
• Banksia Cottage : 1 part-time, fixed-term role • Mia Mia Child and Family Study Centre : 1 full-time, continuing role and 1 part-time, fixed-term role
Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will be an advocate for children, believe in quality early education and the value of relationships, and be willing to collaborate with the university community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and evaluate the educational program, including developmental records,
Demonstrate a knowledge of child development,
Interact respectfully and positively with children and families,
Work positively, respectfully, and collaboratively with a large, diverse team,
Maintain a current understanding of the EYLF and National Quality Standards,
Support and contribute to all diversity, equity, and inclusion activities,
Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and continuous improvement,
Supervise a small team and manage team performance with support from the Centre Manager,
Undertake the Responsible Person and/or Room Leader roles as required, and
Follow approved policies and procedures to help keep children safe (child protection, supervision, health and well-being).
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ACECQA approved degree in early childhood education,
Current NESA Accreditation,
Approved First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualification,
Working with Children Check,
Approved Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk of Harm qualification,
Computer literacy e.g. Office 365,
Previous experience working with children aged 0-5 years is desirable,
